Kassia,

It seems from reading this that your philosophy about royalties can be applied to every aspect of every business.

sweat details; set things up right in the beginning; avoid manual administrative work (except for exceptional situations); trust your systems - but double check them; and taking responsibility are all important aspects of great operational businesses. Very little in business operations is sexy, but operational excellence is one of the 3 pillars of Market leadership (according to Michael Treacy and fred Wiersema: http://books.google.com/books?id=IBhIRPcAyC8C&dq=discipline+of+Market+leaders+treacy&printsec=frontcover&source=bn&hl=en&ei=xLZpSqnlK6GCtgeNnKi-Cw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4)
